Veteran edge rusher and future Hall of Famer Von Miller has had an up and down season. Although he missed multiple weeks with an injury, Von has shown plenty of juice to give fans hope that he can be a valuable rotational pass rusher in big moments.
Entering the final week of the regular season, Miller was at five sacks on the season. With one more, he would hit a contract incentive that would pay out $1.5 million.
Miller wasted no time. On the first possession of the game, he padded his wallet with a sack on Patriots' rookie quarterback Drake Maye.
Miller is an interesting topic amongst Bills Mafia. When Buffalo brought him in on a massive contract, the expectation was that they were signing one of the best pass rushers in the league, and that he would provide an immense impact to the defensive front.
At times, he has looked like the Von of old, but through injuries and missed time, Miller hasn't been the consistent force that people were expecting him to be. Still, Miller has been close a lot this season. In recent weeks, Von has looked twitched up and like he's capable of providing some disruption on obvious passing downs. On the season, Miller ranks 16th in the league in Win%, which calculates how often a players beats his blocker on non-penalty pass rushing snaps.
Miller still has some juice. As the Bills are gearing up for a playoffs run, a healthy and explosive Von Miller would be a tremendous boost to a defensive line that is struggling to generate pressure on four-man rushes.
