It's hard to forget about Patrick Mahomes' viral reaction at the end of the Kansas City Chiefs' loss to the Buffalo Bills last week. 

The best way to describe it was a meltdown. 

And the NFL took action against the MVP quarterback, fining him for the way he reacted. 

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Mahomes was fined $50,000 for "unsportsmanlike conduct for abusive, threatening or insulting language to officials, plus violating long-standing league rules prohibiting public criticism of refs."

Kansas City head coach Andy Reid was also fined $100,000 for "violating long-standing league rules prohibiting public criticism of game officials."

Mahomes got upset after the officials called back an impressive play by the Chiefs that would have resulted in a potential game-winning touchdown.

The quarterback located Travis Kelce who took the ball past the 30, but was caught between a few Bills defenders. He looked back and with quick thinking, sent the ball to Kadarius Toney who took it into the end zone.

Yet despite the impressive play, the play got called back after the officials ruled that receiver Toney was offsides.

Mahomes was so angry at the call that he had to be held back by his teammates at one point and also threw his helmet onto the ground in frustration. He continued to blame the officials when speaking at the podium after the game. 

Reid amplified Mahomes' statements after the game, blaming the officials as well. But he later retracted those comments after rewatching the film the following day. 

This was a make-or-break game for the Chiefs, but the Bills came away with a hard fought victory. And regardless of all the drama surrounding it, nobody can take that away.
