The Buffalo Bills are making their final preparations for the upcoming playoff showdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It’ll be a tough test for Buffalo as the Jaguars are one of the hottest teams in the league. However, they don’t have a Josh Allen on their team, which should have the Bills Mafia hopeful that Buffalo can walk into Jacksonville and pull off the win.

Ahead of the matchup, the Bills shared some alarming injury news before head coach Sean McDermott could speak to the media. It’s all about making sure the team is as well-equipped as possible for a pivotal showdown.

Jordan Phillips is out for the season

The team has officially placed defensive tackle Jordan Phillips on injured reserve, ending his season. The veteran defensive tackle suffered a foot injury and is now ruled out for the playoffs.

He finished the year appearing in 11 games with one pass defended, one sack, and nine combined tackles. The team was ravaged with injuries at the defensive tackle position, and this is just another blow to that position group.

Buffalo makes a flurry of roster moves to prepare for the Jacksonville Jaguars playoff game

In a subsequent move, the team signed cornerback Dane Jackson to the active roster. The move comes just days after McDermott gave the concerning update that rookie cornerback Maxwell Hairston would be out for the game against the Jaguars.

The move just makes more sense because it now allows the team to have two practice squad call-ups to bolster whatever unit is hit by injuries. Several players have been out of practice, so this gives Buffalo some wiggle room.

Additionally, the team officially signed cornerback Daryl Porter Jr. to the practice squad, while bringing back quarterback Shane Buechele. Buechele was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs after both Patrick Mahomes and Gardner Minshew went down with injuries, but returns to Buffalo at the perfect time.

With the postseason officially here, Buffalo will need every available body and ounce of depth it can muster. These roster moves may not grab headlines, but in a win-or-go-home environment, they could prove vital as the Bills look to survive a hostile road test in Jacksonville.
