The Buffalo Bills are hoping that first-round draft pick Dalton Kincaid will make some noise immediately on offense.
However, it's what Kincaid has been able to do off the field that's quickly spread like wildfire and won the hearts of the Bills Mafia. From early accounts, it looks like Buffalo struck gold with their selection.
With Kincaid being drafted by the city known for good neighbors, the kid is making all the right moves to win over one of the very best fanbases in all of football. Kincaid, during his busy offseason, spent time giving back to those in need.
Over the weekend, some lucky fans got to spend some time and meet the teams' newest tight end. Kincaid was raising money for Camp Puzzle Peace at the Van Bortel Ford in Rochester NY, a spot for families with kids on the autism spectrum.
Camp Puzzle Peace, as their website indicates, is "a grassroots non-profit organization created by a collaboration of educators and parents. Our mission is to provide traditional family experiences for families. We are an inclusive organization, and serve families dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental delays."
While it may look like just a photo or some signed memorabilia, Kincaid's actions are so much bigger than football and left a lasting impression on those children and their families. The meet and greet fundraiser was a smash success with all proceeds benefiting Camp Puzzle Peace and their efforts.
Speaking on the event, and the fanbase as a whole, Kincaid was elated. "It's awesome." He continued, "It kind of just reassures you know how great of a fan base we do have in BIlls Mafia, so definitely getting to meet everybody and just be out in the community is something that I've been wanting to do."
Kincaid just joined an NFL roster, something that he's spent his entire life working towards. He's a professional athlete in arguably the most competitive sport in the world, but what he was wanting to do more than anything is be out in the community and give back.
The entire Bills organization, from their coaches to each and every player understands the importance of community and the fanbase that would do anything for their team. Kincaid's efforts show his dedication to the community, and his drive to give back as much as his drive to compete on game day.
The new tight end, in short order, has not only won over the hearts of the fanbase but has shown the type of leader and man he is off the field.
A small moment with big implications.
