The Buffalo Bills have plenty of pressing team needs heading into the 2026 NFL Draft, with more than a handful of players who could come in and make an immediate impact.

General manager Brandon Beane isn’t scared of moving back in the draft either. If the board doesn’t fall the way he wants it to, he can use that to his advantage to get some more day two picks. Buffalo lost one after trading for former Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore.

The trade immediately gives quarterback Josh Allen a top option in the offense. You can’t knock Beane for parting ways with the selection.

The latest ESPN article talks about which team is the most likely to trade down in the first round. Beane has shown in the past that he’s willing to trade down to get some more draft picks, and that’s on the table for Buffalo.

ESPN names Buffalo as the team most likely to trade down in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft

Matt Miller discussed why Buffalo might be inclined to move out of the first round. Beane has done so multiple times throughout his tenure as the team’s general manager.

“The Buffalo Bills. Finding a partner willing to move into Round 1 might be as difficult as predicting which team will move out. It’s expected that teams will not give up too much 2027 capital based on the strength of next year’s class. That makes me think it’ll be a “win-now” team willing to jump out of Round 1. Buffalo GM Brandon Beane has long been a fan of moving down on draft day. And with just three picks in the first four rounds, the Bills could benefit from adding draft capital.” – Matt Miller

If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Beane, it’s that he’s always thinking two steps ahead.

Trading down might not be the flashiest move on draft night. For a team like Buffalo, which has a loaded roster, limited cap space, and a clear Super Bowl window, it could be the move that quietly sets everything up.

More picks, more swings, and more chances to land immediate contributors around Allen.

And if Beane plays his cards right, the Bills won’t just walk away from draft weekend with more players; they could walk away with exactly what they need to get over the hump finally.
