The Buffalo Bills have been without one of their best interior players in defensive tackle Ed Oliver. The talented disruptor has been sidelined since before Week 2 of the NFL season, when he suffered a reported ankle injury that’s taken quite some time to heal. There were rumblings that Oliver had hurt himself riding a horse, but he quickly and hilariously shut down those rumors.

Ahead of the Week 6 contest against the Atlanta Falcons, Oliver took to social media with a post that has Bills Mafia talking. It’s just a simple photo of Oliver doing his patented celebration alongside his teammates during a game. However, it was the caption that he added that was turning heads.

“Somebody go get my belt Im finna do some [expletive] around,” Oliver wrote.

You can gather what he was trying to portray with his colorful commentary. He is hungry to get back on the football field and punish opposing players, and after his last performance, can you blame him?

Oliver had his best game as a professional against the Ravens

If you’re only as good as your last game (nobody says that, but bear with me), Oliver is a superstar. Against the Ravens in Week 1, he played a huge role in the team’s comeback, getting a forced fumble on running back Derrick Henry at a crucial point of the contest.

The defensive tackle finished the game with six tackles, four run stops, three tackles for loss, three pressures, one sack, a forced fumble on Henry, one hurry, and one quarterback hit. He was undoubtedly an MVP of that game, which has made his absence even more frustrating.

Buffalo has been able to get pressure, but hasn’t been able to finish bringing the quarterback down. That, paired with the missed tackles, shows how much the defense could use him back in the lineup. An interior disruptor who makes the lives around him easier could be exactly what the team needs to get over the hump.

Whether it’s the Week 6 game against the Atlanta Falcons or beyond, one thing is for certain: Oliver is ready to get back on the field.
