The Buffalo Bills are hoping that their offseason doesn't start until the middle of February. But even if that's the case, the NFL offseason will still be here before we know it.

On Tuesday, ESPN took a look at one offseason "contract to watch" for each NFL franchise.

For the Bills, they went with linebacker Von Miller's contract.

From ESPN: Miller's role on the team is in question as he was a healthy scratch in Week 17 due to his on-field performance (0 sacks, 3 quarterback hits in 11 games). Off the field, he is facing a felony assault charge for allegedly assaulting his pregnant girlfriend in Texas. Miller has said the allegations are false. The team is letting the legal process play out and following the league's lead. How the Bills handle the Miller situation — both on and off the field — will be something to watch. Miller is under contract through 2027 on a six-year, $120 million deal, but if the team decided to move on, a post-June 1 designation would result in some cap savings but would still leave significant dead cap in 2024.

If the Bills designate Miller as a post June 1 release, they'd save $6.7 million in cap space. But they'd face a $17 million dead cap hit in 2024 and a $15.4 million dead cap hit in 2025.

Miller has just three tackles in 11 games this season. Even without Miller's off-field situation, it's tough to justify keeping him on the roster in 2024. But the dead cap hit won't be easy to swallow, either. There's no doubt that Buffalo has a big decision to make this offseason when it comes to Miller.

Bills have obvious problem heading into Dolphins game

The Buffalo Bills are riding high on a four-game winning streak as they head into the season finale against the Miami Dolphins. The winner of Sunday's game takes home the AFC East crown, which obviously would guarantee a playoff spot for the Bills. The Dolphins have already locked in a spot thanks to their 11-5 […]
