ESPN thinks the Buffalo Bills should sign a former first round draft pick with a controversial past.
Aaron Schatz, a writer for ESPN, detailed this week one free agent that each NFL team should sign this offseason.
And he thinks the Bills should sign wide receiver Calvin Ridley, the No. 26 overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons.
From ESPN: My original suggestion was going to be Tee Higgins before the Bengals decided to give him the franchise tag. But the basic idea remains: The best way for the Bills to upgrade is to get the best receiver they can to play next to Stefon Diggs and Khalil Shakir next season. Somebody more consistent than Gabe Davis would be a huge help. Ridley led the Jaguars in total receiving value (DYAR) upon his return to the NFL last season after missing 2022 with a suspension. He put up 1,016 yards and snagged eight touchdown passes.
Ridley, who was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022, missed the entire 2022 season after it was revealed that he bet on games (which is against the rules for NFL players) during the 2021 season.
The former Alabama standout had a solid return to the NFL in 2023, catching 76 passes for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns.
Ridley, who turned 29 in December, has the talent to be one of the top wide receivers in the NFL. He just hasn't been in an ideal situation yet.
Landing with the Bills, where Ridley would catch passes from quarterback Josh Allen, would certainly qualify as an ideal situation.
A to Z Sports recently projected that Ridley will receive a three year deal worth $60 million with $27.5 million in guaranteed money and a year one cap hit of $7 million.
The Jaguars could place the franchise tag on Ridley or work out an extension, which would prevent the Bills from having a shot at landing the former second-team All Pro.

He would never take a shot at the Bills.
