Move over, Patrick Mahomes, the real star of the show arrived in Brazil. Okay, that was a bit much.

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers are moments from kickoff in São Paulo, Brazil. This is one of seven international games across the NFL, with other contests being played in Ireland, England, Germany, and Spain. According to CBS Sports, there are 36 million NFL fans in Brazil, which is why the league has been so eager to move into those markets. With that many fans, of course, there’s going to be some members of the Bills Mafia. Moments before kickoff, a fan decked in Bills gear was spotted with a sign that had a message the entire fan base could get behind.

“Let us go to 1 SB,” the sign read.

Just days ahead of the Buffalo Bills’ season opener against the Baltimore Ravens, the beloved fan base is showing up and showing out in support of their team. But let’s be honest, was that ever really a doubt? Sports Illustrated published an article in August that broke down just how popular the Bills were outside of the United States, with some of the best numbers across the entire NFL.

The Buffalo Bills are beloved worldwide

Behind only the Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, the Bills were ranked third according to Google Trends from outside the United States. Having a reigning MVP and superstar as the team’s quarterback, it’s no surprise that he ranked fourth in top-searched players outside the country as well. With Canada neighboring Buffalo, their strong representation helps boost the quarterback’s numbers, even just a bit.

It’s an exciting time for the NFL and fans from outside the country who get to experience what a game, in-person, is truly like. Hours ahead of the Chiefs vs. Chargers, hundreds of fans arrived to get a glimpse of these players. It should sound familiar to the Bills fans, who have a history of showing up in large numbers to support the team. Whether it’s nearly 40,000 fans showing up for a scrimmage or waiting in the blistering cold at the airport past midnight, they’re always ready.

With Buffalo and Josh Allen performing so well outside the United States, the NFL won’t be shying away from adding them to some international games in the future. We’re going to ignore that the team only has one win through seven games played outside of the country.

Regardless, it’s a day of celebration as the game continues to expand across the globe.
