Bills Mafia called out ahead of Week 5 showdown with a special request that’s guaranteed to make life difficult for the Patriots
Bills Mafia has been known to rise to the occasion, and that’s exactly what the organization is hoping for in Week 5.
The Buffalo Bills once again found a way to win and remain undefeated on the season after their 31-19 victory over the New Orleans Saints.
Next up on the schedule is none other than the New England Patriots. Buffalo has a chance to further its lead in the AFC East with a victory over the 2-2 Patriots. Ahead of the contest, Bills Mafia was called out with a special request for the game.
The Week 5 showdown against the Patriots will be the first time the team will wear its new Nike Rivalry jerseys, an all-white uniform representative of the brutal winter conditions Buffalo faces. The team also requested that the Bills Mafia don all white for the contest, making it a white-out in the stadium.
A special gift for fans in attendance
The team will hand out white towels to every attendee, helping to create the image of a blizzard in the stands. It has all the makings of a playoff-like atmosphere in Buffalo, which is guaranteed to make life extra difficult for the visiting Patriots.
Also, Buffalo has a chance to do something that hasn’t been accomplished since the Jim Kelly era. A Week 5 home win over the Patriots would tie the franchise record for the most consecutive regular season home wins in team history, sharing the record with the 1991 Bills.
Not to get too far ahead of ourselves, but if the team managed to beat the Patriots in Week 5 and the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6, it would be the first time the team has started 6-0 since 1964, and the first time in team history that the Bills would go into the bye week undefeated.
Highmark Stadium will transform into a blizzard-like environment, despite temperatures estimated to be above 70 degrees for the contest. It’s a tough place to win for opposing teams, and the Bills Mafia plays a large role in that.
