The Buffalo Bills are already going to be shorthanded against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Head coach Sean McDermott ruled out a handful of players, including kicker Matt Prater, defensive tackle Jordan Phillips, and safety Jordan Poyer, for the contest. Fortunately, there was some good news in that quarterback Josh Allen is reportedly a full-go for Sunday.

Friday’s injury report included the addition of defensive tackle DaQuan Jones being ruled out, along with both tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox being questionable for the contest. Quarterback Josh Allen cannot be thrilled with the latest team update.

Another day, more injuries. Let’s take a look at the final injury report heading into Week 17.

Observations

Rookie safety Jordan Hancock is going to get some more playing time on Sunday with the loss of Jrodan Poyer. Poyer is coming off one of his best games of the season and has been instrumental to the growth of safety Cole Bishop throughout the season.

The best news of the day is undoubtedly Josh Allen. If Allen weren’t able to go, the team would be in dire straits. He’s a one-man wrecking crew and a large part of why the team has had the success they’ve had throughout the season, clinching a playoff berth after the win against Cleveland.

It’ll once again be next man up for Buffalo in several key areas, and there are still some question marks heading into Sunday with a handful of players either limited or unable to practice on Friday. If Kincaid and Knox can’t go, it’ll be a problem on offense. Oftentimes, the tight ends are utilized more than wide receivers in the offense, or are at least having more success than the receivers. Getting both players on the field will go a long way toward the team finding success on Sunday.

It puts added pressure on Buffalo’s depth, once again, against one of the league’s most physical teams. How the Bills handle those thin spots, and whether they can avoid added damage, could matter just as much as the final score with January football right around the corner.
