Josh Allen is the league MVP, capable of taking over any moment. He has emerged into a dominant force as one of the best, if not the best, quarterback in the NFL.

It didn't always look like that would be the case. Early career Josh Allen had plenty of warts, with a low completion percentage and plenty of turnovers. Former Bills team captain and starting center Mitch Morse was asked when he knew that Allen was going to be special during an appearance on the Centered on Buffalo podcast, and he didn't hesitate to detail one of Allen's first truly iconic plays.

"It was probably 2019, we played the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving, and it was a 4th and 1 QB snake. I tried my best to snap him low, all that stuff. Ball went right through that left cheek, and I felt it immediately. Josh grabs it, goes, makes a guy miss, goes through a guy, and more than anything, he just showed his personality and like, his willingness to not let that play fail," Morse detailed.

The play was an incredible one, and demonstrated much of what makes Allen so special.

"And when you know you have a quarterback that has that mindset, everything else is going to follow suit, and it did," Morse continued. "I mean, it's just his personality. His maturity is a hard word to throw around Josh, because he's a giant child, but his football acumen and his IQ was going to follow his grit and his willingness to lay it out for his teammates. And I think that play exemplified that."

Allen has since demonstrated that he is always willing to lead from the front, to sacrifice whatever it takes to succeed. Not only is he a leader in the building, but he leads by example, demonstrating the tenacity and toughness that is so indicative of what the Buffalo Bills have become. It led to his first league MVP, and hopefully, it'll lead to the Bills bringing their first Lombardi Trophy back to western New York.
