The Buffalo Bills released wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie on Friday, just a couple of days before he was due a $250,000 roster bonus.

With McKenzie leaving town, the Bills have Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, Khalil Shakir, and recently signed Deonte Harty sitting atop their depth chart.

Former Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson, who played in Buffalo from 2008 to 2013, has another wide receiver move he'd like to see his former team make.

Johnson took to Twitter on Friday, just before Buffalo officially announced McKenzie's release, and suggested that the Bills should trade draft picks to the Denver Broncos for wide receiver Jerry Jeudy.

Johnson's logic when it comes to this proposal is pretty sound.

He suggested that because the Bills are cash-strapped, they could trade for Jeudy while he's still on his rookie deal. Jeudy could then play alongside Diggs for a couple of years and then if Diggs lands a contract outside of Buffalo, the Bills could extend Jeudy and count on him as the team's No. 1 wide receiver (depending on whether or not he plays like No. 1 wide receiver, of course).

A recent report suggested that Denver is unlikely to trade Jeudy this offseason, so it seems like a long shot that this is a move that Buffalo can pull off.

Johnson's idea is a good one, but it's a scenario that requires two willing teams. And I'm not sure the Bills would want to give up what it would probably take to land Jeudy from the Broncos.
