The hits keep on coming for the Buffalo Bills.

One of the biggest misses in the game was a failed third-down conversion where the team tried to get cute, once again. In the game against the New England Patriots, Buffalo attempted a jet sweep of sorts with tight end Dalton Kincaid that just went nowhere.

In the loss against the Falcons, the Bills attempted to get Elijah Moore the ball in a short-yardage situation, but the handoff was bobbled, and the team was forced off the field.

Former Bills receiver Isaiah McKenzie was watching the game and had some words about the failed conversion, calling out the execution of the play at a critical point of the matchup.

“They making jet sweeps look so hard, make a (expletive) pocket and stop trying to grab it with your hands!” McKenzie wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, during the contest.

The veteran receiver was a gadget player during his tenure with the Bills and knows all about the jet sweeps. In five seasons with the Bills, McKenzie started 26 games with 137 receptions for 1,316 yards and 11 touchdowns. McKenzie added 46 carries for 226 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

Josh Allen didn’t have the best day at the office

Quarterback Josh Allen and the Bills’ offense couldn’t get things going against the Atlanta Falcons. Now, some of that can be attributed to the Bills being without one of their top weapons in tight end Dalton Kincaid. However, being down one or two men with the reigning MVP shouldn’t be an issue, but it was.

Allen finished his day going 15-for-26 with 180 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions.

Back-to-back weeks with some “cute” play-calling even had head coach Sean McDermott talking about how the team hasn’t made it as easy as they could for Allen and the offense to operate.

“It was too hard,” McDermott said. “It was too hard tonight for our quarterback, and it doesn’t need to be that hard all the time.”

The Bills have lost two straight games, with offensive miscues and self-inflicting wounds proving costly. As McDermott stated, keeping things simple for Allen might be the key to getting Buffalo back on track. There’s a lot to clean up, but plenty of time to right the ship as the Bills head into their bye.
