Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs

The Buffalo Bills have an elite, game-changing wide receiver in Stefon Diggs. Diggs is one of the only true WR1 who can take over a game almost single-handedly.

However, in recent months it seems as though the negativity surrounding some of his perceived antics may have some forgetting just how incredible he, and the Bills team, is.

While appearing on The Herd with Colin Cowherd and Jason Mcintyre, former Bengals WR and Pro Bowler T.J. Houshmandzadeh opened up on the current state of affairs with the Buffalo Bills and how it'll impact their season. Specifically, why the team won't be able to succeed in part because of Diggs and his antics.

McCintyre, going so far as to call Diggs a punk (without calling him a punk) gave Houshmandzadeh the mic and allowed him to dissect the team.

"I don't think Buffalo will win the division" Houshmandzadeh started, "They've been so good for a while and they just haven't gotten over the hump. Now you have the Stefon Diggs situation with Josh Allen, they're going to try and force him the ball. When you try and force him the ball, bad things happen. If he's not getting the ball, he gonna act a fool, he's showing you that."

The former Pro Bowl WR then moved on to the Bills franchise QB and how he can "handle" Stefon Diggs and the "situation." "Josh Allen, his personality, he can handle this… He's not a punk."

Mcintryre pushed back, "Don't you have to be a bit of a punk to deal with a punk?" Seemingly taking a shot at Diggs.

Houshmandzadeh continued, discussing that Diggs wanting the ball would hurt the team because Gabe Davis wouldn't be able to get his targets. "Forcing balls to him that should be going to Gabe Davis, that's the problem."

The bizarre back and forth quickly went viral, making national headlines and becoming a talking point across social media. That's when former Bengals and legendary WR Chad Johnson stepped in to shut down the Diggs controversy, providing some perspective on what makes Diggs unique and how he's truly an elite talent. While respecting Houshmandzadeh and his opinion, Johnson was direct.

"I like what @housh84 said but Diggs will always succeed due to his ability to get open consistently, if he's force fed he'll have a 2k yard season, playoffs they allowed the defense to dictate where the ball goes & that's where the frustration came from."

Diggs is once again back in the national spotlight. With camp about to begin which inches us closer to the NFL season, the All-Pro WR will let his game do the talking and remind the world that he's "him."

As Chad Johnson shared, Diggs will always succeed because of his ability to get open consistently. Just win, the rest is just noise.
