Von Miller had plenty to say about Bradley Chubb.

The Buffalo Bills got busy during the free agency period, bringing in a stud pass rusher in Bradley Chubb. Chubb had been released from the Miami Dolphins, and I was pounding the table for Buffalo to go out and get him. After a relatively quiet few first days of free agency, Buffalo struck.

The veteran pass rusher is going to make an immediate impact opposite Greg Rousseau, or at least that’s what future Hall of Famer and former Buffalo Bills pass rusher Von Miller believes. Miller was speaking on his latest episode of the “Free Range” podcast, where he shared his thoughts on Chubb joining the organization.

Needless to say, he’s a fan of the decision.

“Bradley Chubb with Greg Rousseau? That’s going to be fireworks,” Miller said. “Greg Rousseau is primarily a left defensive end. Bradley Chubb is primarily a right defensive end. Kinda how me and Bradley Chubb were with the Denver Broncos.”

General manager Brandon Beane came under fire for the decision to trade for wide receiver DJ Moore. A move that some had called desperate at the time. Miller doesn’t buy into all the noise outside of One Bills Drive and made sure to give Beane and the front office their flowers.

“I think Brandon Beane made the best out of this free agency cycle with the players that were available,” Miller said.

Chubb and Miller talked while the pass rusher was signing with Buffalo

Days before the move occurred to acquire Chubb, Miller opened up on a conversation he shared with the talented pass rusher. Miller was excited for his former teammate while sharing that he had nothing bad to say about his time in Buffalo, and that Buffalo would have everything Chubb would need during his time in Western New York.

“Bradley Chubb called me,” Miller said. “When he called me, I was like, ‘Where you at?’ He was like, ‘Man, I’m in Buffalo.’ This was two days before the news broke.”

Hey, who knows, maybe a reunion is in order. Miller is looking for a new team after coming off a nine-sack season, and Buffalo could absolutely use the extra bodies. Maybe this story ends with Miller reuniting with not only another teammate, but with an organization as well.

Regardless, Buffalo swung for the fences, and the season can’t start soon enough to see just how it’s going to play out at One Bills Drive. Chubb seems more than ready for the challenge ahead.

If Miller is right, this isn’t just another free agency addition; it’s a move that could finally push Buffalo’s pass rush over the top when it matters most.
