The Buffalo Bills are looking to bounce back after some tough back-to-back losses.

One of the biggest concerns heading into the season was the defense’s ability to stop the run and get after the quarterback. General manager Brandon Beane spent valuable draft capital and salary cap space to bring in some difference-makers on defense, but fans are concerned it isn’t quite enough.

Obviously, the biggest point of conversation after the loss to the Atlanta Falcons was how the offense looked broken, with quarterback Josh Allen not looking like his MVP self. The bye week couldn’t have come at a better time, as the Bills looked to rest up and set their focus on the Carolina Panthers.

Buffalo got a huge boost for this matchup. Quarterback Bryce Young suffered a high ankle sprain and is expected to miss this week’s contest. Quarterback Andy Dalton is set to get the start, which should have the defense hungry to get after it.

Andy Dalton is a Buffalo legend

Fans of the dreaded drought years know all too well who Dalton is as a quarterback.

The beloved fan base donated nearly $300,000 to Dalton’s charitable foundation after Dalton helped lead the Cincinnati Bengals to a win over the Baltimore Ravens, allowing the Bills to break their playoff drought and enter the postseason.

Dalton completed a 49-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Boyd, which sent the Bills Mafia into a frenzy. It’s one of the best moments in Bills history.

There won’t be too much love for Dalton this time around, though the fans most likely still hold a special place in their hearts for the “Red Rifle.”

Dalton will always have a special place in Bills history, but nostalgia ends when the whistle blows. Buffalo’s focus is on stopping the skid, all while making life difficult for Dalton and the offense.
