The Buffalo Bills and Carolina Panthers are set for action at 1 p.m. ET. Ahead of the matchup, the team released its inactive report, which included a few surprises. Buffalo is looking to bounce back after consecutive losses, and it’s going to have to do it a bit shorthanded.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is what has transpired over the last 24 hours, with rookie cornerback Maxwell Hairston being activated off the injured reserve. Based on the inactive report, Hairston is suiting up for the contest.

However, he will most likely be on a snap count of sorts, but Bills Mafia will be getting their first look at the talented young defender. Regardless, it’s an exciting time for the fan base and the organization, which are hoping for big things from Hairston as the season progresses.

Heading into the matchup, head coach Sean McDermott had already ruled out defensive tackle DaQuan Jones and receiver Josh Palmer, who are considered week-to-week.

Unfortunately, the team is also down starting linebacker Matt Milano, who has been officially ruled out. Tight end Dalton Kincaid, after being questionable, is active. Quarterback Josh Allen gets one of his premier weapons back for a pivotal game, giving the offense a huge win moments before kickoff.

Bills’ inactive report has a few surprises

Rounding out the Bills’ inactive report are cornerback Brandon Codrington, offensive tackle Chase Lundt, and defensive end Landon Jackson. With the return of edge Michael Hoecht, it’s likely Jackson was a healthy scratch due to Hoecht’s return.

Panthers’ inactive report ahead of Week 8

The Bills aren’t the only team heading into the contest a bit undermanned; the Panthers will be without starting quarterback Bryce Young. He was doubtful heading into the contest, but has since been ruled out. It’ll be Buffalo legend quarterback Andy Dalton getting the start for Carolina.

They’ll also be without receiver Hunter Renfrow, running back DeeJay Dallas, offensive lineman Nick Samac, tight end James Mitchell, and defensive tackles Cam Jackson and Jaden Crumedy.

Under McDermott, the Bills are 8-0 after the bye week, and Allen has never been part of a three-game losing streak. Some history is on the Bills’ side entering Sunday’s game. All that’s left to do is wait, and the Bills Mafia won’t have to wait long.
