The Buffalo Bills got a win before kickoff, as the Philadelphia Eagles lost, meaning Buffalo is the lone undefeated team in the NFL. It won’t make the game against the New England Patriots any easier, but Buffalo has a chance to remain the lone undefeated team with a victory on ‘Sunday Night Football.’

Not only that, but Buffalo could take more than a three-game lead in the division with a win.

Ahead of the contest, the Bills released their inactive report with more than a handful of names to give fans cause for concern. Offensive lineman Spencer Brown, who missed the Week 4 contest, is healthy enough to compete, giving quarterback Josh Allen and the offense a huge boost. Buffalo was going to be a bit shorthanded in the matchup, even before the inactive report.

Head coach Sean McDermott ruled out both cornerback Dorian Strong and linebacker Dorian Williams for the matchup.

The team signed linebacker Jimmy Ciarlo to the 53-man roster, while elevating defensive tackles Zion Logue and Phidarian Mathis on Saturday. Now that the inactive report has been released, it’s no wonder the team elevated some defensive tackles, with both rookie defensive tackle T.J. Sanders and defensive tackle Ed Oliver being ruled out for the contest.

Buffalo Bills official inactive report

Rounding out the inactive report for the Bills are wide receiver Elijah Moore, returner and cornerback Brandon Codrington, safety Jordan Hancock, and offensive lineman Chase Lundt. Another week where the team has activated receiver Curtis Samuel for the contest.

For Codrington, it’s a bit of a head scratcher. It’s been back-to-back weeks for the return man to be a healthy inactive. In the team’s Week 4 victory over the New Orleans Saints, receiver Khalil Shakir and running back Ty Johnson took time returning kicks in Codrington’s absence.

Perhaps those who aren’t on the inactive report are reason for the Bills Mafia to celebrate, with linebacker Matt Milano being active. Both Brown and Milano being healthy gives the team a boost on both sides of the football ahead of the highly anticipated matchup.

New England Patriots official inactive report

The New England Patriots are battling their fair share of injuries heading into the matchup as well. Much like the Bills, the Patriots released their inactive report with a handful of key players who won’t be available for the matchup.

It’ll be a homecoming for two Patriots receivers in Stefon Diggs and Mack Hollins, who will be playing their first game back at Highmark Stadium since joining new teams.

Look for the Bills Mafia to try and make an impact early and often, with the organization asking fans to wear all-white to simulate a blizzard-like environment within the stadium.

All that’s left to do is wait, with the Patriots and Bills set for action at 8:20 p.m. ET.
