Bills Inactive Report: Josh Allen and the offense get the news they’ve been waiting for moments before kickoff against the Bengals
A mixed bag of good and bad news ahead of kickoff.
The Buffalo Bills are making their final preparations for the upcoming Week 14 showdown against the Cincinnati Bengals. All week, eyes have been on One Bills Drive regarding how the injury situation was going to shake out ahead of kickoff.
Days before, the team had ruled out defensive end Joey Bosa and linebacker Terrel Bernard. Bosa’s impact on the defensive line cannot be overstated, and he’ll be missed for the matchup. Fortunately, for Bernard, the team has an excellent backup already in linebacker Shaq Thompson.
With Bosa being inactive and the team down a linebacker, the Bills elevated defensive end Morgan Fox and linebacker Baylon Spector from the practice squad.
Adam Schefter broke perhaps the biggest news that tight end Dalton Kincaid would plan to try and play against the Bengals, giving quarterback Josh Allen arguably his best weapon back against one of the worst teams defending against opposing tight ends.
Kincaid tried to test out his knee in warmups and appears to be a full go for the contest. A huge boost for Allen and company heading into a crucial matchup.
It wasn’t all good news for the offense, though. The team ruled several weapons for Allen in wide receiver Josh Palmer and offensive tackle Spencer Brown, leaving the offense severely shorthanded, once again.
Buffalo Bills inactive report ahead of Week 14 vs Bengals
Some key guys for Buffalo were going to be out of the contest, but that doesn’t make the rest of the inactives less surprising. Rounding out the inactives for Buffalo are offensive tackle Chase Lundt, defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis, and safety Darnell Savage.
It’ll be next man up once again for the Bills on both offense and defense. For Allen and the offense, expect the team to lean heavily on the rushing attack by running back James Cook, and expect to see a little more from wide receiver Keon Coleman, who was a healthy scratch for several games this season due to disciplinary reasons.
Injuries have tested Buffalo all season, and Week 14 won’t be any different. Still, the path forward is clear: adapt, adjust, and find a way. With the playoff race tightening by the minute, the Bills don’t have the luxury of excuses. Cincinnati presents an opportunity, and it’s on the next man up to seize it.
