Bills Injury Report: Last-second addition could make life difficult for Josh Allen and the offense at the most inopportune time
Sean McDermott didn’t mention anything about this ahead of practice, and fans are rightfully concerned.
Head coach Sean McDermott spoke before practice, giving a key update on quarterback Josh Allen, among others, before practice was underway. Allen was listed as a full participant, but it’s what McDermott didn’t say that gives cause for concern.
McDermott went through a list of players who would either be limited or unable to practice in any capacity, but forgot to mention that wide receiver Josh Palmer would be unable to practice. Anytime Allen is missing one of his weapons, it’s a worrying sign, to say the least. The last second addition couldn’t have come at a worse time as Buffalo prepares for its upcoming playoff matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Outside of Palmer, everything fit in line with what McDermott shared with reporters ahead of practice. Let’s dive into the injury report and see what the team is working with ahead of Sunday.

Observations
It’s important to note that this was just a walkthrough, not a full fledged practice. Ahead of the activity, McDermott gave fans a big reason to celebrate with the update on Allen and his injury, announcing that he would be a full participant in the walkthrough. Anytime No. 17 is on the field, Buffalo has a chance to win any football game, as was proven throughout the 2025 season.
The sheer amount of players popping up on the injury report gives cause for concern, but looking further into the weeds, it’s actually a rather encouraging update. Both tight ends were limited in Dawson Knox and Dalton Kincaid, not DNP. Kincaid has been a one-man wrecking crew when he’s on the field and, much like Allen, gives the team a chance to win any game that he’s a part of.
Dalton Kincaid’s stats from 12 games in 2025
- 39 receptions
- 571 receiving yards
- Five touchdowns
- 47.6 receiving yards per game
- 11.7 yards per target
It’s frustrating once again to see Palmer pop up on the injury report as he’s been dealing with injuries throughout his stint in Buffalo. Though he has left much to be desired when he’s on the field and is looking like one of the bigger misses when talking about offseason acquisitions.
Still, the margin for error is razor-thin this time of year. While Allen’s presence under center is the biggest box Buffalo can check, the health and availability of those around him will ultimately tell the story. With a playoff trip to Jacksonville looming, the next few practice reports will matter just as much as Sunday’s kickoff.
