Buffalo Bills RB James Cook

James Cook is going to erupt this year.

There is a lot of hype for the Buffalo Bills coming into this season. The Super Bowl expectations are alive and well once again.

While most of the media focus on Diggs not showing up to one day mandatory camp, Allen's ability to will his team to victory, Von Miller getting healthy, or even available players like Dalvin Cook or DeAndre Hopkins joining the team, there are plenty of storylines to go around.

James Cook is quietly flying under the radar outside of the Bills Mafia. The second-year back is looking to make a splash and it appears the room belongs to him, despite the team picking up a handful of other backs this offseason.

Cook, in my eyes, is poised to be a breakout player coming into this season. As the year progressed, Cook saw more opportunities and ran away with them (no pun intended).

The talented back finished last season with 89 carries for 507 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground with 21 receptions for 180 yards and one touchdown in the air.

In fact, Cook was only a few carries away from being eligible to lead the entire league in YPC. For a rookie, who was ramped up toward the end of the year, this stat alone is promising for fans.

Cook is a quiet leader, mostly soft-spoken, and lets his play do the talking. With Cook taking another step this season, along with some more continuity not only with his franchise quarterback but their offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, the sky is the limit.

Even though the backfield is busy, and most likely Cook is going to lose carries to Harris in the redzone, my bold prediction is that Cook will surpass 1500 all-purpose yards and find himself in the Pro Bowl. The second-year back is going to win the position handily and be one of the strongest offensive weapons on the team this season.

To add one step further, let's throw in at least 10 touchdowns from the ground and in the air combined.

The offseason is all about bold takes. James Cook taking the next step and being a dominant force on this already impressive team would be a scary situation for any opposing defenses.

Let. James. Cook.
