The Buffalo Bills locked in running back James Cook during the offseason with a four-year contract extension. Through just three weeks, Cook has looked worth every penny. Watching him in the backfield is a thing of beauty, jump-cutting his way into the Bills franchise record books along the way.

If Cook were able to find the end zone for a rushing touchdown against the New Orleans Saints, he would become the first player in franchise history to have eight consecutive games with a rushing touchdown.

Ahead of the team’s Week 4 showdown against the Saints, Cook joined the “Rich Eisen Show” to discuss his new partnership with Rich Products for his ‘James Cookie,’ while also delving into his contract situation and what type of person quarterback Josh Allen is.

A man of few words, Cook kept the interview short and sweet. However, Cook got personal when asked about the reigning MVP in Josh Allen, offering a tidbit on what makes him so great outside of the game of football.

“It’s fun, you know. A great player, great teammate,” Cook said. “Just everybody doesn’t know he’s one of the best persons. He’s going to make sure you’re alright, he’s never going to leave you in a bind, and just going to be always there for you.”

Hilariously, Cook was asked where the idea came from with his new cookie, with the talented running back not budging an inch when asked about the product.

“I guess my last name, you know,” Cook said. “My agent just told me that they’re coming out with a cookie, and boom, it’s here.”

Alvino Battistoni, senior vice president of the in-store bakery and deli division at Rich Products, shared a statement about the partnership with Cook on his brand-new cookie.

“Football season in Buffalo is full of passion, pride and energy. And that’s exactly what this cookie celebrates. As a company rooted in Buffalo for 80 years, Rich’s has a deep appreciation and love for our community. James Cook is an electric player and we’re excited to team up with him to introduce a cookie that is bold, full of flavor and perfect for game day or any celebration.” – Alvino Battistoni

James Cook opens up about Week 1 comeback

The talented running back was asked if he was satisfied with his current contract after some uncertainty before the year began. With his performance in the early stages, he thinks that he’s proved why he deserves the brand new contract.

“Of course. I love it here. It’s who drafted me, I want to be here forever,” Cook said. “Yeah, of course. Just all the work I’ve put in over the offseason to get to that point is just a blessing. Just thank God it was able to get done.”

While the NFL is entering Week 4, Eisen brought up the Week 1 performance against the Baltimore Ravens, where the team was able to mount a thrilling comeback. Much like fans, Cook didn’t know if the team could get it done until the clock hit 0 and Buffalo proved to be victorious.

“Nuts. I didn’t even know, I thought the game was over, literally,” Cook said. “We just kept fighting and something happened. I don’t know what happened, it just took. I looked up and looked back up and it was over and we were winning.”

Whether it’s cookies, contracts, or comeback wins, Cook has given the fanbase plenty to be excited about. With history on the line in Week 4 for Cook, he may just deliver another sweet moment for the Bills Mafia.
