Bills’ James Cook keeps it short and sweet with a meaningful message about quarterback Josh Allen and his greatness on Sunday
What a statement from running back James Cook after the win against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Jacksonville Jaguars had the No. 1 rush defense in the NFL, and put on a clinic with shutting down running back James Cook. It was going to be an uphill battle for the No. 1 rush offense to take on the No. 1 rush defense, with the defense expected to prevail. With Cook being eliminated in the matchup, it was all up to quarterback Josh Allen to put on his Superman cape and get the victory.
Cook finished the day with 15 carries for 46 yards while adding two catches for five yards. At the end of the day, individual accolades don’t matter with Buffalo taking home the victory. Cook couldn’t be more thrilled about his team walking away with the win.
The superstar running back was quick to give Allen his flowers with a fiery postgame post on X, keeping things short and sweet while praising his franchise quarterback.
Allen was dominant against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the wildcard matchup
Just a simple, “17 100” was all it took for Cook to get his feelings out in the open, and we can’t agree with him anymore. Sometimes, when you watch what Allen can do on the football field, you’re left at a loss for words.
Allen put the team on his back by going 28-for-35 for 273 yards and a touchdown in the air while adding 11 carries for 33 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. He had perhaps the longest tush push in NFL history, setting the Bills up at the one-yard line to take the lead back late in the fourth quarter. While he was banged up in the victory, it’s all gravy once again from Allen.
“Yeah, it was more of a precautionary thing,” Allen said. “Just got rolled up on and they wanted to take a quick look, we’re all good.”
When the Jaguars erased the Bills’ ground game, Allen reminded everyone why Buffalo never panics. As long as No. 17 is under center in January, the Bills will always believe they have a chance no matter how the game unfolds.
