The Buffalo Bills are gearing up for perhaps the game of the year in the NFL with a showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs slated for Week 9. Unfortunately, one of the biggest talking points of the week has been the loss of defensive tackle Ed Oliver, who tore his biceps and is out indefinitely.

Leave it to running back James Cook to add some much-needed brevity to the current state at One Bills Drive. Once again, Cook proves why he’s been worth every penny of his offseason contract extension. While it wasn’t due to his on-field play, Cook has gone viral with his comments about the Miami Dolphins.

The talented running back appeared on Underdog’s “The Arena: Gridiron podcast” and was asked about a personal accolade on the field, specifically to name the team that he rushed for 100-plus yards for the first time in his NFL career.

He wasn’t sure off the rip, so he asked the hosts for some help, to which they said, “Um, this team is trash.”

Cook immediately said the Miami Dolphins, leaving co-host Aqib Talib erupting in laughter. Cook couldn’t help but laugh, as he was all smiles before ultimately remembering it was against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Cook finished the game against the Las Vegas Raiders with career highs in yards and carries, rushing 17 times for 123 yards. Obviously, Cook has destroyed those career highs, especially in the last game against the Carolina Panthers, where Cook had more than 200 yards rushing on the day. Nevertheless, history will always show that Cook’s first 100-yard game was against the Raiders.

Cook shined in the last game against the Miami Dolphins

Cook had quite the game against the Miami Dolphins in the 2025 season, finishing the day with more than 100 yards on the ground. Though his overall history against the Dolphins isn’t the best. In seven contests against the team, the last outing was the only time Cook hit more than 100 yards.

Now, we have a feeling that over his career, he’ll have a handful more 100-yard games against the Dolphins. For Miami, it’s another shot at the organization during a rough season all around. There are rumors that the Dolphins are heading into a full rebuild after starting the season 2-6.

Cook once again proved to be an MVP both on and off the field. He fully understands how ferocious the rivalry is between the two clubs and took his chance to fire a shot at the organization. Bills Mafia quickly took the video and spread it like wildfire across social media.

At the end of the day, Cook’s jab wasn’t just a moment of comedy, but it was a reminder that the Bills-Dolphins rivalry is alive and well. With Buffalo rolling into one of the biggest games of the year, Bills Mafia wouldn’t have it any other way.
