Josh Allen delivers bold message on Mack Hollins and Stefon Diggs ahead of their highly-anticipated Week 5 return to Buffalo
Josh Allen made his feelings known.
The Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots are set for action in Week 5 of the NFL season.
There are plenty of storylines surrounding the game, with the high-powered offense of the Bills and quarterback Josh Allen taking on the up-and-coming New England Patriots team, led by second-year quarterback Drake Maye.
However, perhaps the biggest storyline is the return of receivers Mack Hollins and Stefon Diggs. Allen was asked about their return, and he left nothing to the imagination. First, for Diggs, Allen already faced the former Bills receiver in 2024, when Diggs was a part of the Houston Texans.
In the 2024 season, Diggs and the Texans pulled out a victory over the Bills, and what followed was a viral snapshot of Diggs staring down Allen after the game.
“Played the last year [ . . . ] I don’t know if it’s anything super crazy,” Allen said. “Being back in Buffalo, who knows if the emotions are going to be heightened for him, or the fans. We’re just gonna go out there and try to perform the best we can.”
All love for Mack Hollins with his return
While Allen wasn’t too enthusiastic about Diggs’ return, the same can’t be said about Hollins.
“Very excited to see Mack Hollins,” Allen said. “He made a very lasting impact in his one season here and, again, he’s another Buffalo kind of folklore legend.”
Hollins would definitely fit the bill for a Buffalo folklore legend. In just one season in Buffalo, Hollins made a lasting impact with the Bills Mafia. His shirtless and shoeless antics off the field were hilarious, but he was also exceptional on the football field.
In fact, Hollins led the team in touchdowns with five during his lone season with the Bills. Hollins joined the Patriots as a free agent after the 2024 season.
Admittedly, Allen seemed far more interested in seeing Hollins once again over Diggs. Part of that could be because the two have seen each other since Diggs left, and another might be because of how rough Diggs’ departure from Buffalo was.
The veteran receiver had a bunch of cryptic messages and was clearly unhappy with his role in the organization, which ultimately led to being traded from the Bills in a move that forced Buffalo to eat more than $30 million in dead cap.
Ultimately, Diggs’ messy departure and Hollins’ beloved one-year stint add extra juice to a divisional matchup that already carries plenty of intrigue. Bills Mafia is hoping that the team can take care of business and ruin their reunions.
