Josh Allen calls out the Bills Mafia in the best way possible just seconds after pulling off thrilling Week 14 win over the Bengals
Josh Allen had jokes for Buffalo Bills fans after exciting win vs. Bengals.
The Buffalo Bills squeaked out a victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in a thrilling game while the snow was coming down in bunches. Quarterback Josh Allen put the team on his back and made NFL history along the way. During the contest, he had maybe the most insane touchdown I’ve ever seen.
It wasn’t without controversy or difficulties, though, as self-inflicted wounds almost cost Buffalo the game. Running back James Cook had a costly fumble, and it just felt like the team wouldn’t bounce back. That’s the thing, you can never count out the team with No. 17 at quarterback.
Allen made the Bengals pay with his arm and legs, scampering his way to a 40-yard touchdown late in the contest. It wasn’t just that, as Allen used his legs to get a first down to ice the game.
The reigning MVP was electric in the win, becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to have more than 20 passing touchdowns and more than 10 rushing touchdowns in three different seasons.
While he’s dominant on the field, his sense of humor might be the best in the league. After the game, Allen hilariously offered that there was never a doubt, clearly joking with the media in a hilarious moment. He even called out the Bills Mafia after the win with a statement they all can get behind.
“Never a doubt,” Allen said. “That was obviously a really tough game, a really good team that we just played. The guys made plays tonight. It was cool to see our fans stay in the fourth quarter, so we all learn.”
Allen made history once again
Allen also opened up after the game with an unforgettable message that the fan base can all get behind. While he’s a superstar on the field, he’s also one off the field, as was proven with his comments after the contest. He’s humble, hungry, and ready for more. Allen often doesn’t waste time shouting out his teammates, and today was no different.
“Yeah, and again, it comes down to guys executing and making plays,” Allen said. “Sometimes you gotta play bigger for other people, and you saw that tonight on those back-to-back plays with Christian Benford and Big Phil (Jordan Phillips) tipping one up. Finding ways to get in the end zone. All we had to do is score one more point than them; it didn’t matter how we did it. Didn’t matter how good or bad it looked, we just got to continue to find ways to win football games.”
Allen put the team on his back in the game; he wasn’t going to let anything get in his way of pulling out a victory. When the temperature gets cold, Allen starts to heat up at the right time.
It wasn’t perfect or pretty, but it was Allen at his absolute best when Buffalo needed him most. If the Bills can bottle this version of their quarterback, the rest of the AFC should be terrified.
