The Buffalo Bills won in a shootout against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 11, with quarterback Josh Allen putting on a clinic. In the victory, Allen surpassed legendary Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning for the most touchdowns by a player 30 or younger.

Not only that, Allen became the only player in NFL history to have multiple 3+ passing and 3+ rushing touchdowns in the same game. Did you think we were done? After six touchdowns by Allen, of course, he was going to be shattering more records.

According to Buffalo Bills PR, it was the 11th game Allen had with 3+ passing and 1+ rushing touchdowns, which marks a new NFL record, surpassing Tom Brady.

Allen finished his day with more than 350 yards of total offense, despite having a rocky start and throwing for two interceptions. In one game, Allen is firmly back in the MVP discussion.

Defense couldn’t stop a nosebleed, and self-inflicted wounds nearly cost Buffalo

Defense has become an issue as of late, as the Bills struggled to stop anything quarterback Baker Mayfield and the Bucs offense threw their way (no pun intended). The lack of pressure from the front four, along with the run defense once again allowing a 100-yard rusher, means the team has a lot to clean up.

The Bucs ran for more than 200 yards and threw for 173 total yards. It was clear that the team would lean heavily on the running attack of Sean Tucker and Rachaad White early and often in the contest, with Mayfield himself contributing damage with his legs.

Outside of the final play from the Bucs, the Bills couldn’t bring down Mayfield at all, registering one strip sack in the closing moments.

Speaking of strip sacks and turnovers, Buffalo once again found itself not playing complementary football. Two interceptions from Allen, along with a fumble lost by newly-acquired Mecole Hardman, had Buffalo fighting an uphill battle. Fortunately, the mistakes didn’t amount to a loss.

New guys step up, several players deserve a shoutout

Hardman started in on the fun with a huge return for Buffalo, giving fans reason to be excited about him. Hardman was targeted on one long pass but couldn’t come down with it. Unfortunately, he got hurt and had to leave the game, being ruled out with a calf injury.

And, of course, the return of receiver Gabe Davis. Davis made an impact early, catching a crucial pass for a conversion. Davis didn’t light the scoreboard on fire with his performance, but he performed well in his first game back. He finished the day with three catches for 40 yards.

And just some general shoutouts from the performance go to the entire running back room: James Cook for his pass-catching abilities, Ray Davis for his work in the return game, and Ty Johnson for continuing to be the best third-down back in football.

Keeping with the offense, wide receiver Tyrell Shavers had a heck of a day, leading the team in receptions with four and yards with 90, even finding the end zone.

Giving some kudos to the defense, safety Cole Bishop had an interception and is really finding his footing, and linebacker Terrel Bernard was all over the field, making plays and helping his teammates out. There were plenty of others, but we wanted to highlight only a few.

At the end of the day, the Bills walked out with a win, but also with a long checklist heading into Week 12. If Buffalo can clean up the defensive lapses and limit the turnovers, performances like Allen’s will keep them squarely in the AFC playoff picture.
