The Buffalo Bills offense just could not get going. Tyler Bass forced overtime with a field goal but it just wasn't enough as the Bills would go three and out to start overtime and lose on a punt return for a touchdown.

Josh Allen made bad reads, forced the ball into tight windows, and fumbled at the most inopportune time. The Bills franchise quarterback spent all offseason discussing the importance of limiting turnovers, but couldn't follow suit when it mattered the most.

The team will live and die by Allen and the fanbase loves some of his recklessness. Unfortunately, for games like tonight, it cost them a win. The Rodgers-less Jets squeaked out a win over the Buffalo Bills to start the season.

To add insult to injury, Allen made history for all the wrong reasons during the contest. Allen was right to point out the need to maintain control over the football as the Bills franchise quarterback now leads the league in turnovers over the past five seasons.

Not only did Allen make history with his four turnovers, it tied a career-high. Allen also had four turnovers against the Jets in 2019.

There is plenty of time to right the wrongs of this game, but it was an ugly performance from an elite quarterback wearing the weight of the city on his shoulders.

Here's hoping they can correct some of these mistakes and get ready for the home opener against the Raiders. It's a long NFL season, not all is lost after week 1.
