The Buffalo Bills traded Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans on April 3, three weeks before the 2024 NFL Draft. Ever since that trade, it's all anybody seems to talk about when it comes to this Bills offense.

Star quarterback Josh Allen has had enough.

Speaking with the media on Wednesday, following a 47-10 drubbing of the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football that saw Allen throw for 263 yards and four touchdown passes with a 76.7% completion percentage, the focus deserves to be on what the team is building this year, not on what they've done, or who has been with the team, in the past.

"For receivers who are known to often want the ball, how encouraging is it that they talk the talk about 'everybody eats' back in April and May, and they're walking the walk right now. How encouraging is that?" Allen was asked.

"It's very encouraging. And I know there's a lot of people talking out there, again, I'm not trying to tear down anybody. I've loved everybody that I've played with, and you don't have to tear other people down to build each other up," Allen answered. "And you know, we're building each other up right now, and that's all we're trying to do. We're trying to stay together as a team, and we're really caring about each other and everybody in this building."

"What do you mean by that," another reporter quickly followed up.

"You know what I mean," Allen answered with a knowing grin. "Whether it's former players – and again, I love 14 [Stefon Diggs]. I still do. But everyone wants to keep making this thing a thing, and, you know, we're so focused on what's going on inside of our building, and that's the only thing that we're caring about right now."

Allen's right. The media has attempted to "make this thing a thing" ever since that trade. I've done my best as a reporter to instead focus on how it might be different from a scheme standpoint, to focus on what the offense could look like, and now what it has looked like through three weeks.

Rightly so, it's important to answer the questions that fans are having, and fans were right to have their questions and concerns about what an offense without it's perennial Pro Bowl No. 1 wide receiver would look like. That's a lot of uncertainty for a fanbase, and it's my job to attempt to answer those questions. It's also my job to analyze what the offense has looked like through these first three weeks, and it what it will continue to look like going forward.

We have our answers. We've seen the Bills offense look like an absolute juggernaut, capable of lining up in jumbo packages or spread offense, capable of running the ball on short yardage when it's needed, or for explosive plays. More importantly, in this context, we've seen Allen and offensive coordinator Joe Brady seemingly in lockstep with what the identity of this offense is – which is an offense that leaves defenses guessing, with interchangeable weapons that make it very difficult for defenses to clue in on.

It's time that the attempted narratives surrounding Diggs are put to rest. You certainly won't see it happening here. Instead, the focus will be on this year's Buffalo Bills team, which is currently 3-0, leading the league in scoring at 37.3 points per game, has Allen performing at an MVP level, and is off to a far hotter start than anyone could have seen coming.

Yes, the Bills and the Texans play each other in Week 5 down in Houston. Yes, this page will give it's nod to Diggs and will inform Bills fans as to what he does that week. But this site, and this reporter, will not make the conversation about Diggs. The conversation, as it is in the Buffalo Bills building, is on this year's team, which looks pretty damn good.
