Bills’ Josh Allen part of life-changing announcement that’s so much bigger than football just days ahead of Week 4 showdown
An unforgettable act from No. 17.
The Buffalo Bills have their franchise quarterback in Josh Allen. As someone who endured the dreaded drought years, Allen has been well worth the wait. Outside of him defying nearly all the odds to become one of the league’s best quarterbacks, he’s also just a great person outside of football.
Buffalo is making its final preparations for the upcoming Week 4 matchup against the New Orleans Saints, with Allen being part of a life-changing announcement along the way. Ahead of the matchup, it was announced that Wonderful Pistachios was teaming up with Allen for the launch of the Josh Allen Scholarship.
Allen told Heavy Sports his mission is to give back to the community closest to his heart. While Allen has a lot of love for Buffalo, Firebaugh, California, will always be home for No. 17.
“This program is about more than a scholarship fund; it’s a way to open new doors for the next generation of leaders,” Allen said. “I’m proud to partner with Wonderful in bringing this opportunity to my hometown of Firebaugh.”
The program recipients will receive support with their college applications, providing up to $12,000 over four years that will be applied toward their education. Andy Anzaldo, Chief Operating Officer of Corporate Social Responsibility at the Wonderful Company, shared what this new project hopes to accomplish.
“The Josh Allen Scholarship represents the creation of important new opportunities for students and their families in California’s Central Valley,” said Anzaldo. “With this new scholarship, we are investing in a community that many of our employees call home, just like Josh Allen. With Josh’s partnership, we are ensuring that first-generation students in Firebaugh have the resources they need to successfully navigate the college application process and pursue a college degree with confidence and financial support.”
Allen has had a busy year on and off the field
The reigning MVP announced a partnership with New Era as the new “Director of Billustration” in July 2025 that impacts the Buffalo community. Ahead of each of the Bills’ nine home games, Allen wears a hat customized by patients at Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo. After the games, the hats will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to the Patricia Allen Fund, to honor Allen’s late grandmother.
That’s not all, as Allen struck a deal with New Balance. Once again, Allen’s deal was focused on giving back to the community in Firebaugh, ensuring families have access to all community sports programs regardless of their ability to pay.
“Together, we are making a commitment to Firebaugh to help fund its community sports program in the hopes of providing access to sports, regardless of ability to pay, to help young athletes access sports and chase their dreams,” Allen wrote. “Whether you’re a kid just picking up a football for the first time or a high schooler grinding through two-a-days, we’re here for you, cheering you on from afar, from Boston, to Buffalo, to Firebaugh. Because Firebaugh raised me. And now, it’s my turn to give back.”
Between his new scholarship, his new position at New Era, and his deal with New Balance, Allen has continued to find ways to give back to communities across the country. While he’s put on his Superman cape during NFL games to help lead his team to victory, Allen’s putting on his cape during his free time to give back in various ways to the Firebaugh and Buffalo communities.
For Buffalo, Allen has become much more than just a franchise quarterback. Between his dominance on the field and his impact in communities from Western New York to Firebaugh, he continues to cement his legacy as one of the league’s most influential stars.
