Bills’ Josh Allen loses one of his weapons as team makes concerning change ahead of Week 17 matchup against the Eagles
The Buffalo Bills could be without one of their top offensive playmakers against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles are just one day from their upcoming Week 17 game. Fortunately for Buffalo, it’ll have its best weapon at its disposal as quarterback Josh Allen is a full-go for the contest. Allen suffered an injury during the win against the Cleveland Browns, but has progressed well throughout the week.
Head coach Sean McDermott already ruled out defensive tackle Jordan Phillips, safety Jordan Poyer, and kicker Matt Prater before the final injury report was released, which included defensive tackle DaQuan Jones, who is also ruled out of the matchup.
Perhaps the most concerning part of the injury report was that both tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox were listed as questionable for the contest. Buffalo’s latest moves both remove a weapon for Josh Allen, while providing a concerning sign of things to come.
Bills make flurry of roster moves ahead of Eagles
Allen loses one of his weapons and one of the team’s more recent additions after Buffalo released wide receiver and return man Mecole Hardman Jr. The team is getting quite the return game from running back Ray Davis, and it appears that they favor wide receiver Khalil Shakir in the punt return game. Hardman spent most of his stint with the Bills on injured reserve.
The team also signed tight end Keleki Latu from the practice squad. He’d already been called up a few times before, so this was a necessary roster move. With Latu’s activation, it gives cause for concern that either Knox or Kincaid will be out on Sunday.
In a subsequent move, the team also elevated kicker Michael Badgley and defensive end Andre Jones Jr. from the practice squad. Badgley didn’t perform well against the Browns, forcing the team to bring in a few kickers for a tryout earlier in the week. The team must not have liked their performance and favor what Badgley brings to the unit.
Buffalo appears to be preparing for a shorthanded offense as it readies for one of its toughest tests of the regular season. How much these injuries matter will become clear once kickoff takes place on Sunday.
