UPDATE, MONDAY 7:10 PM EDT: The Buffalo Bills have ruled out defensive tackle DaQuan Jones after the inactive report was released. Jones reportedly suffered a calf injury pregame and will not play against the Atlanta Falcons.

The Buffalo Bills and Atlanta Falcons’ matchup is nearly underway, and Buffalo will be a bit shorthanded on offense, with the defense getting a boost and a fan-favorite returning.

Ahead of the contest, the Bills’ defense got a big boost in that defensive tackle Ed Oliver is active for the first time since Week 1. Oliver’s absence was felt, with opposing teams running roughshod over the Bills.

It wasn’t only Oliver making his return. Ahead of the contest, the team elevated defensive tackle Jordan Phillips and safety Jordan Poyer; it’s Poyer’s first time being elevated off the practice squad, and he could see his first NFL action of the 2025 season.

Outside of Oliver, perhaps the biggest name fans were keeping an eye on was tight end Dalton Kincaid, and the inactive report indicates that Kincaid will be inactive.

One of the top weapons for quarterback Josh Allen will be unavailable. Through five games, Kincaid has totaled 20 receptions for 287 yards and three touchdowns, a difference-maker on the offensive side of the football, and a brutal blow for Allen and the offense.

Buffalo Bills’ inactive report

The team had already ruled out defensive tackle T.J. Sanders and safety Damar Hamlin ahead of the matchup, with both needing to be placed on injured reserve. With the team only having three safeties in Hamlin’s absence, it made sense to elevate Poyer.

Wide receiver Curtis Samuel has also been ruled out after popping up on the injury report after the Week 5 loss to the New England Patriots.

Rounding out the inactives were linebacker Matt Milano, linebacker Jimmy Ciarlo, and offensive lineman Chase Lundt.

Oliver is back, Kincaid is out, next man up for the Buffalo Bills yet again.
