Just seven days ago, it looked as if the Buffalo Bills were dead in the water as they entered Arrowhead Stadium with a record of 6-6.
With a gauntlet of the Chiefs and Cowboys in consecutive weeks in front of them, many wrote off the Bills, who had been the victim of their own mistakes up to that point.
But Josh Allen didn't panic.
The superstar quarterback said it was important for the Bills to lean on their leaders and take things one game at a time, but also that the turmoil brought the team closer, and may have been exactly what they needed.
"But we feel like we've been in the situation before and that's produced a lot of our best football," Allen told reporters ahead of the Bills' win over the Kansas City Chiefs. "So, you know, we've still got a lot of games left a lot of time left, but you know, it starts on Sunday…
"… I think that the guys that we have in this locker room, obviously, we've been brought here for a reason… We can embody that type of mentality and I think that's something we've done in the past and, you know, maybe that's what we need."
The Bills defeated the Chiefs on the road following Allen's comments, and are about to get to 8-6 after dismantling the Dallas Cowboys at home. If adversity is what this team needed to light the fuse, it certainly worked.
Josh Allen makes a strong, but ironic statement about the Bills’ season
Bills Mafia knows all too well what he’s talking about.
