This would be a huge addition for Buffalo.

The Buffalo Bills have a lot of work to do in the 2026 offseason. It’s already begun, with new head coach Joe Brady filling out the staff in his image and building something truly special in Western New York. Despite him being a first-time head coach, the expectations are still sky-high for 2026.

With quarterback Josh Allen leading the charge, the Super Bowl should be the goal every season.

To make it to the big game, Buffalo needs to get him some help, and this offseason is going to be huge in doing just that. The Bills are clearly lacking a true No. 1 wide receiver to go with this offense, and Fox Sports made a prediction that should have the fan base more than a little excited.

In its article from Greg Auman, the Buffalo Bills are linked to rising star and 1,000-yard receiver Alec Pierce from the Indianapolis Colts. The deep threat ascended this season and will have plenty of suitors looking to grab him. General manager Brandon Beane should be picking up the phone once the new league year begins and see what it takes to bring in the talented wide receiver.

The Bills trade for Colts WR Alec Pierce in the latest Fox Sports article

“Pierce, 25, is arguably the NFL’s best deep-threat receiver, leading the league in yards per catch in each of the last two seasons. He topped 1,000 receiving yards in 2025, and four touchdowns in the last three games helped his market a bit. The Colts have a handful of top free agents and won’t be able to keep them all. Pierce is likely to command $20 million a year as an underrated player who could be utilized more — Ja’Marr Chase had 101 more targets in 2025 than Pierce did, but only 409 more yards than the Colts wide receiver.” — Greg Auman

It’s important to note that Buffalo couldn’t just bring him aboard, they have to navigate the current cap situation that it finds itself in. Over The Cap has Buffalo sitting at around negative $7.6 million, but a few restructures could get the job done.

The team is going to look drastically different in 2026, and some familiar faces might be looking for a new home, especially if Buffalo were to make a splash and land a player like Pierce.

Pierce is going to cost a king’s ransom, but never say never

The free agent is estimated, according to Over The Cap, to be valued at about $18.6 million a season. It’s a steep price to pay, but one that Buffalo shouldn’t shy away from if the front office thinks the offense is one superstar playmaker away from winning it all.

Remember when Beane signed Von Miller to a massive contract because he thought it would be what the team needed to get over the hump? If Buffalo were to sign Pierce, it would be in a similar vein — but with a much younger player.

If Beane truly believes this team is still in its Super Bowl window, and with Josh Allen in his prime, how could he not? This is the type of move that defines an offseason. Safe doesn’t win Lombardis, impact does.

Pierce isn’t just another receiver; he’s the kind of vertical threat who forces defenses to back up and finally gives Allen the margin for error he’s rarely had. The cap can be maneuvered, there’s always money in the banana stand, and contracts can be restructured. Windows, however, don’t stay open forever.

If Buffalo is serious about 2026 being different, this is the type of swing that proves that.
