The first Monday Night Football game of the season is all anyone can talk about right now, but not because of the teams playing.
Instead the focus is on the weather.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that there is a shelter-in-place warning in effect at MetLife Stadium, meaning that no players or personnel are allowed on the field.
According to The Weather Channel, thunderstorms are likely through 8 p.m. in the area. However, it does appear that there is a possibility for things to clear up around 9 p.m., which is good news for the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills.
Here are some scenes from MetLife Stadium:
Monday's matchup will provide fans with a first look at Aaron Rodgers in action during a Jets regular season matchup. And they will certainly have their hands full with Josh Allen and the Bills in town.
The game is set to kick off at 8:15 p.m., but the weather could certainly factor into whether the game starts on time.
