Over the last 20 years, Monday Night Football went from being the premier NFL event of the week to being an afterthought, the football equivalent of an undercard that's aired after the main event.

Those days, however, are gone. Thanks to the addition of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman to ESPN's broadcast booth, Monday nights are now home to some of the best games of the season.

And they're starting the 2023 season off with a banger on September 11 — Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills will take on Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers New York Jets in the first Monday night matchup of the season.

The Bills are the favorites to win the AFC East in 2023, but they'll face stiff competition from the Jets and the Miami Dolphins.

Getting a win in Week 1 against the Jets would help Buffalo earn some immediate breathing room in a division race that's expected to be a tough battle all season.

And CBS Sports is betting that the Bills get a win against the Jets in Week 1. They have Buffalo beating New York 24-21

From CBS Sports: I may be more bullish on Aaron Rodgers and the Jets in 2023 than anyone. But it's no guarantee they get off to a hot start with their new quarterback.

Rodgers has won a whopping nine straight starts on "Monday Night Football," but has lost his last two Week 1 starts by a combined score of 61-10! He hasn't thrown a touchdown in his last two season openers! Even with this game being in New York, give me the Bills to win.

Ending Rodgers' impressive winning streak on Monday Night Football would be a great way for the Bills to get off to a quick start while putting a damper on the beginning of the Rodgers era in New York.

But even if the Bills get a win in Week 1, it won't make the AFC East battle much easier for the defending division champs. The Jets and the Dolphins are sure to be a problem all season long.
