To say the fanbase is divided would be an understatement.

According to the most recent reports, the new Buffalo Bills stadium is sitting at around 93% completion. Buffalo will be in its new home for the 2026 season, and fans are more than a little excited to get any glimpse they can into the exciting project in Western New York.

One of the most important features of the stadium even had quarterback Josh Allen excited, and it’s all about the wind inside. The way the stadium was constructed, it could be blowing wind outside, and you won’t feel it while on the field.

While the stadium isn’t a closed dome, this will go a long way toward Allen being successful on gamedays and not having to worry about the wind being a factor—a huge win for the organization and modern technology.

Not everything is going according to plan, though, and some fans aren’t too thrilled with a recent decision the team made regarding those big bison sitting in front of the stadium. The latest update gave fans an intimate look at what the bison are going to look like, and some fans aren’t thrilled.

Bills Mafia isn’t a huge fan of the new look

General manager Brandon Beane confirmed in the early stages of the stadium’s construction that there would be huge bison (or buffalo) sitting out in front of the stadium that would be 20 feet high.

Well, what he didn’t say is that they would have a futuristic look to them, and some fans haven’t been too thrilled with the decision, voicing their displeasure on social media.

It’s been officially reported that there will be three bison, with the tallest bull standing at 24 feet, and then the base holding them is three feet tall. The bull will officially stand at 27 feet tall and is coming in at around 23,000 pounds, with the cow and calf coming in at 22 and 12 feet respectively.

As one user pointed out, they look kind of like something from a PlayStation 2 video game in 32-bit.

Another just said, “horrible.”

Some took a kinder approach with their displeasure, “I love the Bills, and hate to say it, these are horrible.”

Personally, I am going to reserve judgment until I am able to see it in person. Regardless of how fans feel in the current moment, you know that plenty are going to be waiting in line to snap a photo next to the behemoth animals sitting right outside the stadium.

The statues will do nothing to decide games, but they are going to become part of the experience. And if the new stadium delivers wins, big moments, and a Super Bowl push, Bills Mafia will do what it always does best: embrace it, own it, and turn even the most questionable design choice into something truly iconic.
