Patriots take childish shot at Bills organization and fans with disgusting attack ahead of their trip to the Super Bowl
Not a good look from the Patriots organization.
The New England Patriots are in the Super Bowl, once again, and that’s just gross.
Buffalo was supposed to once again be the kings of the AFC East. Instead, injuries and some self-inflicted wounds cost the Bills the division to the Patriots. New England punched their ticket to the Super Bowl after a victory over the Denver Broncos. For Buffalo, it fell flat in the divisional round, thanks to a controversial call from the referees.
With New England being in the Super Bowl, you’d think that it would have its eyes on the prize, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Instead, the team spent some time dunking on the Bills for no apparent reason during the team’s rally at the stadium. A low blow from the organization.
“It’s been years since we last did this; it feels like yesterday,” the announcer said. “And do you know who is not having a Super Bowl sendoff today? Bills Mafia. All the tables in Buffalo are safe.”
Act like you’ve been there before, New England
Instead of focusing on the Herculean task of trying to shut down the Seattle Seahawks, the organization decided it would be best to take a shot at the Bills organization and the beloved fan base, the Bills Mafia.
New England ran roughshod over the division with quarterback Tom Brady at the helm for nearly 20 years, something that’s not lost on the Bills Mafia. Now, with quarterback Drake Maye coming into his own in his second season, fans fear another dynasty is beginning in Foxborough.
Instead of taking a moment to be grateful for where the team is now, compared to where they came from, they focused on a division rival that has nothing to do with the matchup at hand. Just a very bizarre turn of events that once again reminds the Bills Mafia why their disdain for the Patriots runs so deep.
Dynasties don’t need to punch down, and champions don’t need reminders of who they used to beat. Yet, somehow, on the way to the Super Bowl, New England still felt the need to take a swing at Buffalo.
It was yet another reminder that the rivalry is far from dead, and the bitterness clearly isn’t either.
