The way the Buffalo Bills' season has gone, there's no telling what will happen once the draft rolls around. The team is currently holds the 18th overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, but things could easily change with all the inconsistencies and the league's fourth-hardest remaining strength of schedule.
There are plenty of needs on deck, as well, which makes it tough to get a good start on obtaining pieces to put together in hopes of getting a bead on the Bills' 2024 draft plans.
Fortunately, Saturday's news does just that: gives us a starting point.
The Bills are in attendance at the Penn State-Michigan showdown
Per ESPN's Jordan Reid, who is one of the network's top draft experts, the Packers have "multiple representatives" in attendance for Saturday's showdown between the two Big 10 schools.
Some of the top prospects in this game include:
- Michigan QB JJ McCarthy
- Michigan RB Blake Corum
- Michigan RB Donovan Edwards
- Michigan S Rod Moore
- Michigan DT Kris Jenkins
- Michigan WR Roman Wilson
- Michigan G Zak Zinter
- Penn State LT Olumuyiwa Fashanu
- Penn State EDGE Chop Robinson
- Penn State CB Kalen King
- Penn State EDGE Adisa Isaac
For sake of conversation, assuming the Bills stay at 18, Penn State cornerback Kalen King would make a lot of sense. It's safe to say Kaiir Elam isn't going to turn out to be the guy the team thought they drafted in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. That, along with Tre'Davious White's recent injury history leaves the Bills with a big need opposite Christian Benford.
A couple of other names that make sense are Isaac, Wilson, Moore, and Robinson.
The Penn State-Michigan game was played in Happy Valley, Pennsylvania, which is only about four hours away from Buffalo. Meaning, the Bills could've sent their area scouts to the game – and that would mean they could send quite a few because of the trip's cost efficiency. Per the team's website, Tyler Pratt, Pete Harris, and Brian Fisher are listed as area scouts.
It'll be interesting to see where the Bills end up next.
