The Buffalo Bills gave Ed Oliver a pretty nice pay day last summer. Buffalo signed the former first-round pick to a four-year, $68 million extension with over $24.5 million guaranteed.
Despite being a solid player, Oliver has yet to be a Pro Bowl or All-Pro selection after being drafted No. 9 overall in 2019.
Sam Monson of PFF shares this sediment, and explained his viewpoint in his interior defensive linemen rankings, where he ranked Oliver No. 22.
"Another player who has perhaps never quite lived up to his expected potential, Oliver is coming off a career year in terms of pass rushing, racking up 72 quarterback pressures, including the playoffs," Monson wrote. "Oliver also recorded 32 defensive stops, another career high. An undersized, athletic defensive tackle, Oliver finally started looking like the dominant force he was supposed to become — not simply a good player."
While Oliver has been solid, he hasn't quite met the expectations of someone drafted in the top 10 of the NFL Draft.
