The Buffalo Bills have a lot of needs this offseason, perhaps the biggest is getting quarterback Josh Allen some weapons. No disrespect to players like Curtis Samuel or Mecole Hardman, but Buffalo needs better options for their superstar quarterback, especially in big moments.

The offseason is underway, and Buffalo has a host of available options at their disposal. Free agents are looking for new teams, and deals across the league are going to be struck once the legal tampering window opens. It’s an exciting time for football fans.

One name that’s been brought up several times and linked to Buffalo is wide receiver Mike Evans.

Evans is a pending free agent and made it clear what he’s looking for in his next team. Needless to say, Buffalo fills all of the boxes he’s looking for. While it might not be the biggest splash, adding Evans to the roster would immediately boost the receiver room in a big way.

According to Jeremy Fowler, Evans wants to play for a quarterback he believes in, a chance at a Super Bowl, a top-shelf offensive coordinator, and a promise of high-volume touches.

Let’s break that down. Who couldn’t believe in Josh Allen: check.

The chance at a Super Bowl? Buffalo was one bad call away from an AFC Championship appearance; who knows what would have happened had they played. Close enough to a Super Bowl: check.

A top-shelf offensive coordinator? Pete Carmichael Jr. fits that bill well enough: check.

And a promise of high-volume touches? I don’t think people would mind if he took some of the targets away from Samuel or Josh Palmer: check.

Mike Evans has been as reliable as they come from a receiver standpoint

All that’s left to do is have general manager Brandon Beane pick up the phone and see what it would take to bring in Evans. Again, he might not be the flashiest selection, but he’s an immediate upgrade. Evans had an off year in 2026 due to injury, but before that, he had over 1,000 yards receiving in each of his previous 11 seasons. Talk about efficiency.

And that’s what Buffalo needs. A reliable and efficient wide receiver with veteran leadership that he can pour into some of the younger guys on the roster. Buffalo has needs, too, and Evans fills all of those boxes and then some. It’s a match made in heaven; now all that’s left to do is wait.

The Bills can’t keep asking Allen to be Superman while hoping mid-tier additions magically level up. They need certainty and production. They need someone defenses have to account for on every snap.

Mike Evans is exactly that type of player.

He wins on the outside, he wins in the red zone, he wins in January. For a team that keeps finding itself one play short, that matters more than flash ever will. If Beane is serious about this championship window, this is the type of veteran you call about.

If Buffalo believes they are truly only a few pieces away, Evans might be the piece that finally pushes them over the top.
