Pro Bowl alternate named as a great fit for Buffalo Bills in free agency
The Buffalo Bills were named as a great landing spot for a veteran who just went to the Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles
Free agency is set to get underway next week and the Buffalo Bills will have a few needs to address.
One area the Bills need to focus on in free agency is the offensive line — specifically the guard position.
Guard Rodger Saffold, who turns 35 this summer, is expected to sign elsewhere this offseason. The Bills could use a left guard to replace him.
CBS Sports' Jeff Kerr thinks Buffalo should target a player that just reached the Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kerr listed offensive guard Isaac Seumalo as a great fit for the Bills.
From CBS Sports: The Bills could use a guard with Rodger Saffold hitting the free agent market. Why not sign a younger and more versatile option in Seumalo, who can play left guard, right guard, and center (he even started a game at right tackle). The protection on the offensive line would improve with Seuamlo (who allowed just one sack and 17 pressures last season at right guard). Seumalo will be in high demand, but he's what the Bills need to have a more consistent offensive line and make a deep playoff run.
Seumalo only allowed one sack last season which will obviously be attractive to the Bills.
Spotrac has Seumalo's market value at $12.1 million annually. They project that Seumalo will receive a two-year deal worth just north of $24 million.
I doubt Seumalo gets that much. He'll probably get a deal that's worth closer to $8 to $10 million. That would be more than what Buffalo paid Saffold last season (a little over $6 million), but it would be worth it if the signing improves the offensive line.
