The Buffalo Bills have completely changed the narrative of their 2023 season over the last couple of weeks.
After losing three of four games in November, which dropped Buffalo's record to 6-6, the Bills have won their last two games to get to 8-6 with three games remaining.
And not only have the Bills won two games in a row, but they've won those games against two of the top teams in the NFL.
Buffalo went on the road and beat the Kansas City Chiefs before returning home this weekend for a blowout win against the Dallas Cowboys.
Those two wins led to a statement from NBC Sports' Peter King, a longtime NFL writer/reporter that's highly respected in the industry, that Bills fans will absolutely love.
"The Bills might not win the AFC East. But just imagine the AFC division winner that draws Buffalo in the first round of the playoffs," wrote King in his weekly Football Morning in America column on Monday. "This is a top five team in football right now."
That statement essentially puts the rest of the NFL on notice. The first two-thirds of the 2023 season may have been a bit rocky for the Bills, but they're peaking at just the right time. And despite being just outside of the playoffs right now (they're tied for the final spot at 8-6, but the tiebreaker goes to the Cincinnati Bengals and the Indianapolis Colts for now), Buffalo should be viewed as a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
By the way, while the Bills are two games behind the Miami Dolphins in the AFC East, they still have a decent chance to win the division. Buffalo's next two games are against the Los Angeles Chargers and the New England Patriots while the Dolphins play the Cowboys and the AFC-leading Baltimore Ravens. If the Bills go 2-0 and the Dolphins lose a game, it will set up a game against Miami in Week 18 that will be for the AFC East division title (Buffalo would hold the tiebreaker over the Dolphins with a win in Week 18).
Buckle up, it's going to be a fun final three weeks in the NFL.
