The Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins are set to face off on ‘Thursday Night Football’ in a divisional showdown between two AFC East opponents. The Bills are looking to continue their undefeated season, while Miami is desperately trying to hold it all together in the early stages of the 2025 season.

Ahead of the contest, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa went viral for his comments about Bills quarterback Josh Allen and his abilities on the football field. However, he wasn’t the only Dolphins player who offered some high praise for Josh Allen and the Bills.

Former Buffalo Bill and current Miami Dolphin cornerback Rasul Douglas was asked about facing off his former team and Allen, and how the Bills have managed success in the league in recent years. David Furones, Miami Dolphins beat reporter for Sun Sentinel, shared the interview on X.

“They got a good quarterback, and they do things the right way over there,” Douglas said. “Being in that building, they do things the right way. They got a system of how they run things and how they do things, and everybody just follows it.”

On what Douglas remembers from practicing against Allen from his time on the Bills ahead of their upcoming matchup, the veteran had nothing but praise for the reigning MVP.

“He’s the MVP, that’s what I remember,” Douglas said. “He’s one of the, well, the best quarterback in the league, he’s the MVP, so. He can do it all, he can run, throw, it doesn’t matter.”

Rasul Douglas’ time in Buffalo

Douglas spent two seasons in Buffalo, appearing in 24 games with four interceptions, one for a touchdown, with 13 passes defended, one forced fumble, one sack, 87 total tackles (64 solo, 23 assisted), and six tackles for loss.

The Bills Mafia was clamoring to have him back, but Miami swooped up the veteran on a one-year deal. Douglas was brought to Buffalo via a trade in 2023, in which Buffalo sent the Green Bay Packers a 2024 3rd round pick in exchange for Douglas and a 2024 fifth-rounder.

Buffalo selected Jordan Hancock with the fifth-round pick they received from the Packers, while Green Bay selected Ty’Ron Hopper with the third-round pick Buffalo had sent over in the trade.

Josh Allen deserves the praise

Both Tagovailoa and Douglas shared the same sentiment: Josh Allen is one of one in the National Football League.

The veteran cornerback is going to get a front-row seat to Allen’s greatness on ‘Thursday Night Football’ as the Bills hope to not only keep their undefeated season alive, but also their dominant run over the Dolphins in recent years.

Allen has been a man on a mission throughout his career against the Dolphins. Divisional rivalries always hold a bit more weight, and Allen has risen to the occasion more than once against the Dolphins throughout his career.

Buffalo is battling through some injuries on the defensive side of the football, with both Ed Oliver and Matt Milano ruled out of the contest. As Bills Mafia always says, as long as No. 17 is on the football field, the team has a chance to win.

Several Miami players have now offered Allen some high praise ahead of their Week 3 showdown, and Bills fans are hoping they have a few more nice things to say after the game ends on Thursday. Preferably, with Allen putting on another monster performance and helping the team win the game.
