Bills rising star hit with brutal news as team makes huge change just moments before kickoff against the Buccaneers
The Bills are shaking things up ahead of the Week 11 showdown.
The Buffalo Bills are making some big changes to the roster in Week 11. Ahead of the matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cover One broke the news that the Bills would be making wide receiver Keon Coleman a healthy scratch for the contest.
It has been reported that this was a coach’s decision that had nothing to do with performance, despite Coleman having a rocky 2025 campaign. Adam Schefter reported that the plan was for Coleman to play, but after he missed a team meeting, the team made him a healthy scratch.
He has been a healthy scratch for the first time in his career. Earlier this season, Coleman was benched for the first series in the loss to the New England Patriots, and it appears the hits keep on coming for Coleman.
Bills Mafia has gotten their wish in that receivers Gabe Davis and Mecole Hardman have been activated. It’s both of their first games in Buffalo in 2025, with Hardman assumingly taking over punt and kick return responsibilities. Former return man Brandon Codrington was released by the team.
Buffalo Bills inactive report
Earlier in the week, it looked like the Buffalo Bills were going to be significantly shorthanded for the matchup, with more than a handful of players on both sides of the football missing time. Head coach Sean McDermott already ruled out tight end Dalton Kincaid and defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis on Friday.
Fortunately, Buffalo looks relatively healthy heading into kickoff, with wide receiver Khalil Shakir being able to go, along with rookie defensive tackle T.J. Sanders.
The remaining players who were questionable for the contest were linebacker Shaq Thompson, defensive back Cam Lewis, and cornerback Taron Johnson. Thompson and wide receiver Elijah Moore were both ruled inactive. Rounding out the report were cornerback Ja’Marcus Ingram and offensive tackle Chase Lundt.
Another weapon for Allen returns: wide receiver Josh Palmer is healthy and back in the lineup, a huge win for the offense, hoping to get things back on track.
Considering how rough the early-week injury report looked, the Bills will take any positive momentum they can get. The Coleman news is shocking, and all eyes are going to be on One Bills Drive for how the team navigates the situation moving forward.
It is up to the Bills to turn improved health and fresh energy into a much-needed win in Week 11.
