The Buffalo Bills are gearing up for a showdown against the Cleveland Browns in Week 16. Head coach Sean McDermott spoke to the media and provided a crucial injury update before practice on Wednesday. Fortunately for the fan base, it looks like the team will be relatively healthy heading into the contest — a huge boost for both the offense and defense for Buffalo.

It wasn’t all good news this week, as McDermott had already ruled out defensive tackle Jordan Phillips and kicker Matt Prater. The team was forced to sign Michael Badgley to the practice squad. Prater is still on the active roster as of the time of publication.

McDermott said that outside of Prater and Phillips, everyone would be practicing in some capacity.

Christian Benford update fans have been waiting for

Perhaps the biggest name fans have been wondering about is that of cornerback Christian Benford. Benford suffered a toe injury late last week and didn’t play against the New England Patriots.

McDermott said that he will practice in some capacity as well, and they will know more after today.

Benford has been a one-man wrecking crew in the defensive backfield and has really ascended to be one of the best at his position across the entire NFL. Having him back on the field will be huge for the team’s long-term success, and more importantly, in shutting down the Browns’ passing attack

Bills open 21-day practice window for Mecole Hardman

Some more good news coming out of Buffalo favors quarterback Josh Allen. The Bills picked up wide receiver and return man Mecole Hardman earlier this season, but he had gotten injured and missed the past four games on the injured reserve.

McDermott shared the exciting update that Hardman’s 21-day practice window has opened, meaning there is a chance that he could be on the field Sunday against the Browns.

The passing attack has been lackluster, but Buffalo keeps finding ways to stack wins despite a lack of separation from some of the pass catchers on the team. With No. 17 at the helm, anything is possible with the offense. Getting another weapon back for Allen will also go a long way toward the team finding success on Sunday.

All signs are pointing toward Buffalo heading into Week 16 in a strong position. If Benford can return and Hardman works his way back into the mix, the Bills will be as close to full strength as they have been in weeks. Against a Browns team trying to stay relevant, Buffalo will look to take advantage of the health boost in hopes of continuing its late-season push.
