Man, what a turnaround for the Buffalo Bills.
Four weeks ago, they were dead in the water after losing a heartbreaker to the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, they're about to battle the Miami Dolphins for the AFC East crown in Week 18.
And, it's going to be in front of a national audience on Sunday Night Football.
The NFL finally announced its Week 18 schedule after leaving fans -and teams- to wonder all season long and sure enough, Josh Allen and co. will try and win their fourth-straight AFCE crown on January, 7 at 8:20 p.m. ET. NBC will broadcast the game, as usual.
It's almost a coin flip when it comes to determining who wins this game
The Dolphins are coming off a blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens and they are dealing with some key injuries on both sides of the ball. Per Betonline.ag, the Bills opened as 2-point favorites and the spread has already risen to -3, since.
Dolphins fans should take note of Allen's history in Miami, though. Per Pro Football Reference's Stathead, Allen has traveled to South Beach a total of five times in his career. He's thrown at least two touchdown passes in all five games and has completed 61.9% of his passes for a tick over 296 yards per game, 13 touchdowns, and three interceptions. For the advanced stats crowd, he averages 7.62 ANY/A and boasts a 50.2% success rate. As an offense, the Bills average more than 27 points per game, as well.
The success hasn't resulted in automatic wins, however. The Bills are 3-2 with Allen behind center and they haven't scored more than 19 points in the two losses – compared to 30+ points in each of the three wins. In all, it's a division game – anything can happen.
Both teams know that, too. Which is why Sunday night should cap off what has been one hell of a rollercoaster ride of a season.
