The time has come for Von Miller to suit up and play for the Buffalo Bills in 2023.
Earlier in the week, the All-Pro pass rusher said there was a 90% chance he'd return and sure enough, he'll play in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Bills will have Miller on a pitch count. But, even that is a big boost to a pass rush that will be without starting pass rusher Greg Rosseau, who is tied for second on the team with 3.0 sacks.
It also becomes important when factoring in the return of Cam Robinson, the Jags' starting left tackle. Robinson was suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. He has been practicing with team since its arrival in London.
Miller has 8.0 sacks in 11 career games as a Bill and his absence was sorely missed in 2022, as the team's pass rush production dipped after his injury. This year is much different, however: The Bills are tied for the league lead with 16.0 sacks through the first four games. They also lead the NFL in pressure rate (32.1%) and have knocked down opposing QBs at the second-highest rate (15.5%)
What makes it even more impressive is Sean McDermott has blitzed his opponents at a 17.6% clip, which is the third-lowest rate in the NFL.
Meaning, the Bills are getting to quarterbacks without sending extra guys. That is absolutely huge in today's NFL and Miller should help make the pass rush even more potent when he's on the field.
