When rookie quarterback Bryce Young takes his first snap in 2023, he'll make Carolina Panthers history.

Well, assuming he takes that snap in Week One.

ESPN's Adam Schefter pointed out on Tuesday that if Young begins the 2023 season as the Panthers' starting quarterback (as is expected to be the case), he'll become the youngest starting quarterback ever for Carolina.

Young, who turned 22 on Tuesday, is two months and 14 days younger than Cam Newton.

Newton, the No. 1 overall selection by the Panthers in the 2011 NFL Draft, currently holds the record for the youngest starting quarterback in Carolina franchise history.

The only way that Newton can hold onto his record would be if Young doesn't start for the Panthers until late November/early December. Of course, that's only going to happen if Young suffers an injury during training camp. Otherwise, he's the guy for Carolina.

Though I'm betting Young really couldn't care less about this accomplishment. The only accomplishment he's likely worried about is leading the Panthers to the playoffs as a rookie.
